(think fires on the early 787 Dreamliner caused by the lithium batteries). My opinion you would be better off with 6v deep cycle agm battery bank for long term boondock.

.02 cents here only

Lithium technology has come a long way. I would have no problem pulling new lithium’s down to 10%.
Also more than double the life cycles of any agm.

Your view on lithium is old and outdated.
Lol. 6v battery bank.
Big, heavy, fill it with water.

My $.03

Does anyone with an Isata 5 know if there is any room left on the control panel for this? Blame Kenny!

If it were me.. I would not mount the display, and just use my phone. It’s tough to get from the battery box, to anywhere up high in the coach.

Back to the HD force...

1. Is the generator 120v? How does it power both 120 legs? Im sure there is a jumper somewhere in the transfer switch.. ( its just my assumption all RV gens are 120v, unlike residential gens)

2. Jammer says he is wiring the whole coach off inverter. But how is it set up now? ( Just wondering how easy it would be...) Im sure dynamax does not put all on the inverter. This is in relation the the breakers..

The op asked because of the need to boon-dock.

Sure you can modify it so you can plug the umbilical cord to the inverter, but you get into the whole bonding issue I think dependent the inverters internal wiring.

Example: I do this with my modified sine inverter, but it has a floating neutral.

Page 6 here for inverter... It would seem there would be a sub panel for the inverter outlets...

http://www.magnum-dimensions.com/sit...s%29_Web_1.pdf

As far as generator I would assume because it has two 35 amp lugs, @ 120v) it would supply both side's of the PD panel..

We can also assume the two a/c breakers in the pd panel are on separate sides of panel

The rare instance you need to charge dead batterys from the generator through the converter may be problematic.

The PD takes 1550 watts to charge at full rate 90 amps. Thats about 13 amps. Leaves 20 amps on that side of panel that the charging circuit is on I assume..

If a/c is running on that same charging side of panel, and then the microwave is run, you may trip the breaker. ( @ gen)

But thats only if batts are dead. A way around it would be to put the charge wizard in 13.6 mode to draw less amps.

Just a thought is all.. Just posting info I have been finding online.

Here is the panel PDF...

So This guy posted a pic of his panel...

Just adding this for the op..

This is in a DX3 mind you .

IMO if I wanted to move things off the left side shore power to the right side inverter I would add this type breaker to do so. I believe NEC allows it..

What brand comes with the dynamax?

Can you post a link to what you found that matches?
