Nice looking rig, but, no nightstands by bed. Would be nice to at least have some small ones. Cable drive slides? Curious why. Will also be interested to see how the full front cab over cap holds up (stress cracks). Not knocking it, it looks nice, but still new. I'd like to see one after a couple of years of abuse.
What roof is on it? Hopefully not same water pooling design as forester / sunseeker.

fiberglasd roof and it rolls over the sides, no seams
As for the cap, we run one very similar on the Force product. No issues there.

Good to hear. I know the "no night stands" has always been a deal killer for us, but at the same time, I know you're always trying to squeeze things in. I didn't realize how challenging it was until I started making my own floor plans. First one I ever did, picked a length and what I wanted, before I was through I didn't really have much room for a living room / kitchen. I commend the guys that fit everything in a rig. It aint easy, unless you're working with a 45' bus.
Last few questions. Leveling system, which one, air suspension on rear or stock?

The previous model years of the Isata had this beautiful front cap and it looked like a smaller version of the sleek DX3; why was the cap style changed?

Brian,
Hello to All, I am new to this forum as of about an hour ago. Very interested in Dynamax. What is the towing capacity of the new Ram 5500 Isata?
We normally tow an enclosed trailer loaded with my Jeep rock crawler and tools in it. My trailer weight gets into the 9000# area so I need to stay at a minimum of 10,000# towing capacity.

That beautiful front cap, had no cab over bed. There were multiple Isata versions and there will be again. We built an Isata E series on an E450 and an F series on an F550. None of which really had a bed. Late on a bed was added, but it was not very big.
We will have a 3 series (Sprinter 3500), 5 series (Ram 5500) and 4 series (E450). The thread you are on now is the 5 series and it has a bed over the cab for more sleeping space. Thus the larger cap. We may look at a non-bed version in the future but for now, most people want the bed.

That unit will come with a 10,000 lbs hitch standard.
GCWR is 37,500
GVWWR is 19,500

Brian, a friend of mine currently has a Super C built on the Ford F550 4x4 chassis. (not a Dynamax or FR product)
I am curious about why you are going to the Ram 5500?
I personally have driven a few F550 Fords on long trips and find that some of them, for whatever reason, do not like to drive straight down the road at highway speeds. It almost feels like the "tail wagging the dog" My friends long chassis F550 4x4 RV (30') has to constantly be corrected left to right and back again. These are not exaggerated corrections but the truck just won't go straight down the highway. He has had the front end aligned with a little bit of extra toe in, had his ball joints checked for wear and they are good, steering box is tight etc. He can't figure it out so he has stopped looking for an answer.
Has Dynamax ever had this experience with the F550 Fords and hopefully the Ram will not encounter this issue.

Ford suspension has always been a little behind the times. Even on the E450's the Ford suspension always needed to be perfectly dialed in to perform in a way that we wanted.
For the Dynamax F550, they put anywhere from $5000 to $7000 into the suspension alone to get it to how they wanted. It was not cheap, but it rode great.
We went with the Ram 5500 for a few reasons. One, we had a person that specializes in suspensions take a look at what we would need and they said the chassis should ride just fine as is. We also like the Cummins engine over the power stroke, extra torque, horsepower, towing and I am a big fan of the uConnect system (not a big fan of the Sync system on Fords). It might be splitting hairs...but it really just felt like a better unit for our purposes.

Brian, what company did you use for the Ford F550 suspensions?
And if more than one option, what system did you have installed?
thank you
