Newbie Boondocking.

2019 Isata 5 but I doubt that makes a difference. What steps need to be taken to ensure the generator (8K Onan) is powering what we need it to? Do I have to turn the inverter on? We have a couple lights on and our ceiling fans running. Seems to me that the batteries are draining quickly even though the generator is running.
I’m looking forward to the day that I can answer questions like this instead of having to ask them.

If the generator is running the batteries shouldn't be drawing down. Check to see if the breaker on the generator near the start button is on.

You need the inverter on if you have a Residential Fridge. Don't let the batteries go below 12 volts. I added batteries and solar panels. I have 4 group 27's and 300 watts of solar. You can set your generator to 'Auto-Start' when your batteries get to 12 volts and you can also plug in 'quiet' hours so it doesn't come on during RV Park quiet times. All this is in your manuals.
