Power Control System Isata 5
I have a 50 amp adapter with extension cord plugged into an outlet on the house to charge the batteries, I took some pics of the screen on my control panel and was wondering if this is normal? On other units it gives you a choice of amp service in, 15,20,30 thanks for any help.

normal for 220v / 50amp service
if you plug into 110v using 30amp adapter-- you will see load amps
also you can select what amp service you have 15, 20, 30

So if I get a 30 amp adapter I should see those other amp options on the screen to pick from?

yes that is what you should see.
you should get a 30amp adapter and an adapter to go from 30 to normal 110 as well. Some camp grounds only have the 30 amp. I have 30 amp at home where I normally park but sometimes need to move into the yard and then use a 15 amp circuit to keep charged.

You can get blood out of a turnip. If you plug into 15 amps that's all you will get out. If you are on a 15/20 amp home outlet you have only 15/20 amps available and your display should show that. Your picture show 2 AC's connected. You cannot run 2 AC's on a 15 amp circuit.

with this system when you are plugged into 110v the system knows it is 110 but does not know the amps. you need to select the amps and then the system decides what can be powered
when it is plugged into 220 it knows it is 220 and assumes 50 amps

not sure what you mean
The screen that shows the if ac is powered is an information screen. It is telling you if you turn them on with individual controls if they will actually turn on and run.
For example if you are not plugged into shore power with generator off you can turn the ac "on" with the controls in the main cabin and in the bedroom, they will light up but will not run

The unit should have come with a 50 to 30 amp dog bone style adapter and a 50 to 15 amp plug ( mine did). The 50 to 15 amp plug was cheap so I replaced with a Camco 50 to 15 amp dog bone style adapter
When not plugged into 50 amp the screen should give the option for 15, 20 and 30 amps. If your system doesn稚 the quickest way to diagnose the problem is to call Precision Circuits tech line. They are very helpful. I have used them to fix a problem and get replacement parts under warranty.
Selecting the amps tells the system what can safely be used.

We just picked up our Isata 5 30fw and it didn't come with any dog bone adapters, so we bought 50 to 15 and 50 to 30. We plugged into the house initially but didn't tell the coach anything. Just let it be. So the next time we plug in at the house we need to go to the screen and tell it?

Landkknight, you can select 15, 20, or 30 amps on the touch screen. At home it is probably a 15 amp circuit, but you can verify by looking at the circuit breaker for the specific receptacle.
This tells the system what can be safely run in the coach. If you are just charging / maintaining house batteries you don稚 have to change. A screen shows amp usage if you start to run electrical devices. Amp in and usage is also displayed on inverter control panel ( I have Zantrax ).
Caution, when plugged in to 15 amp at home the weak link is the extension cord. If you try to draw 15+ amps on a 15 amp circuit you can damage the electronics and risk a fire by melting the extension cord. If the cord is warm to the touch you are exceeding the amp rating on the cord. I bought a 20 amp extension cord when I plug into the house.
I do set amps when camping and using a 30 amp hook up. Can not use a/c when plugged into 15 amp. Can not use both a/c when plugged into 30 amp.
There are additional settings on the Zantrex control panel if not using 50 amp but I don稚 change those.

Thanks for the info, Pat.
We do not need an extension cord to plug into the house, the 50 amp cord reaches. We just use the 50 to 15 dog leg adapter. All our other rigs were 30 amp so I am not familiar with the differences yet.
On our trailer (30 amp) we were able to run air conditioner when plugged into the house, we didn't try to run the I5 AC when we had it plugged in, but you are saying you can't run it when plugged into the house? That's surprising. I do understand you can't run both when on 30 amp. is there a way to tell which unit is going to run when plugged into 30 amp? And if you try to run the wrong one, what happens? Something bad? Or it simply won't turn on. Or does it matter as long as only one is used?
Next time we plug into the house I will check the power screen for options. And check about the air conditioner. We won't be at a campground plugged in until July but have a few trips planned for boondocking before then.

Update
I have still been working on fixing my issue with the plex panel only showing the 50 amp message even though i am plugged into a 110 outlet at home, see pics below, I have been working with Daniel at Precision Circuits to resolve the issue, rebooting the system by removing the ground on the batteries, he sent me a new midi board and i just installed that and the same issue is still there, i believe someone here replaced the ac relay/sense coil in the breaker panel as well, could that be it? Or maybe you can see something in the attached pics I致e missed?

same error with module not working
on ours the sensor and module were not working so replaced both
here is the thread on replacing the module
http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...or-137072.html
check to make sure the data cable from the module is plugged into the sensor--on my unit it hard to get to as is bottom corner on back of circuit breaker box-- I could barely get my hand in the space to plug/unplug it
If it is plugged in I would ask Daniel to send you a replacement module. This can be swapped easily. If it is not the module then it is probably the sensor. Harder to replace, you should only do if you are comfortable doing electrical repairs.
Note with this error you can run everything you just need to be aware of what power you have. If on 50amp or 30 amp you can pretty much run everything you want. On 30 do not run both ACs , coffee pot and iron at same time; but you can run both ACs at the same time. On 15 amp only one AC.

Hey guys another question that may not be related to my issue, does your blue light come on when you are plugged into shore power regardless if its 50 amp or 15 at the plug on the cap of the plug on the RV? My last RV the little blue light came on regardless of what amp I was plugged into. TIA
