Power share? On xantrex rs3000

We just purchaced a 2006 Grand Sport and I am a bit confused about the power share settings. Of what I can tell is on the control panel you can change the settings of amps. Does that mean that if I am on a 50amp plug site at a rv park that I should change setting on control panel to 50amp and then when its in storage on a 20amp service that I should change setting to 20amp and so on. And if so what setting should I use when using the generator 30amp or 50amp. Just used to less advanced motorhomes that you just plugged in to what ever amp service was availiable with out changing settings of any kind. Thanks.

I don't think it has a 50 amp setting, just 30 (at least the newer ones do not), because you only have 30 amps coming in. The other leg is dedicated to the AC which is not inverted.

The purpose of this setting is so you do NOT trip the breaker drawing too much power. For example...if you are plugged in at home on a 20 amp breaker and you have it set for 30 amps incoming, your unit will try and draw 30 amps if it needs it. Tripping the 20 amp breaker. However, if you set it to 20...it will try and balance the loads. So it might shed one load so it change charge the battery, or it will charge the batteries at a lower amperage so it can do other things. Attached is our recommend settings. (whatever you do...the red button is NOT a power button. It is a safe mode button that shuts everything off. 110V and 12V)

Thanks for that information. I have a 2006 Dynaquest with the Xantrex and wondered why 30amp was the highest power share setting
