REV - Replaced burned out LED on Carefree Awning

The LED strip that was in the Carefree awning had large areas of burned out lights. I got on a ladder to look and the rubber covering the circuit was loose, so water shorted out the LED's. I also saw it actually shorting against the aluminum roller and smoking at one part of the strip. I called Carefree and they only offer a 1 year warranty, so they couldn't have cared less, even when I told them I saw it smoldering.

So I ordered this from Amazon Around $17.

RoLightic 12V SMD 3528 White LED Strip Lights Kit 6000K 300 LEDs 5M 16.4 Ft Roll IP65 Waterproof - Includes 2A Power Supply (24 Watt) and Dial Dimmer - LED Tape Light

Save the end that plugs into the old tape to use on the new one. It came with a power adapter and dimmer not used, but can be used with the piece that you cut off. It is about three feet longer than the awning. There are twice as many lights and the same color as the original.
