Running A/C off of Generator

Hi all, I am in need of help. I bought a 2017 Isata 5 35 DS and did the walk through with a guy who didn't know the unit very well. When it was plugged in to shore power the A/C worked great. I can not get the A/C units to turn on for the life of me. I am sure it's a setting on the inverter or something. I checked all the breakers in the panel at the bed and they are all good. Please help!!!!

If you are not plugged into shore power nor running the generator, then nothing that works off 120 volts other an inverter for the reefer will work. You need shore power or the genny running for power. 12 volts run off the battery.

I was running the generator, I actually found the problem there was a switch on the generator that was off, is that a breaker of sorts or was it manually turned off before I purchased it. Just curious but all is working now.

That is the circuit breaker for the genny.

Depending on what genny you have, it mostly likely is a breaker/"kill switch" of sorts that shuts off the outbound power from your generator.
Probably came that way from the factory and the dealer never turned it on.

Does not take much sometimes for them to trip. Once in a great while, mine will trip. I run the a.c. when I exercise the genny once a month.

You will have to run the coach generator to have the house AC work or be connected to shore power. If you have a res. reefer, that would be on an inverter only. Lights, water pump are 12 volt. TV, micro wave, AC and any other 120 volt acc. require either running your genny or shore power to operate.
