Spare tire

Has anyone tried a method of mounting a spare tire on a Rev 24RB? There is a front mount made by Curt but not sure if that works although it is advertised to fit a Ram 3500 truck.

I would caution using a front mount, a rancher I know has that setup on a dodge 1ton and has experienced overheating when pulling heavy loads.

Thanks for the tip. I'm leaning against the option all together and take my chances without a spare and cancel my Alaska trip. I calculated an addnl 135-140 lbs of excess weight anyway.

I have not seen it done, but more weight on the front is always good with the Promaster.

It's the luck of the draw. My last trip was 10,000 miles no spare and no problem either. AK is risky though.

I'm in the process of building something front mounted on my REV 24 TB. I am concerned about overheating and plan to leave the wheel uncovered so some air get's thru it. I purchased a steel wheel and new tire and together they weigh 64 pounds. I'll post photos and results as I get them.

Appreciate it. I would love to see pics. I checked on a front rack I saw online but was undecided. It added about 120 lbs with everything completed including the steel rim the tire alone is 45 lbs. Where are you located?

I'm in North Port, south of Sarasota. I just did a 1700 mile trip with no issues, but I'm going to Maine for the summer and travel into Canada. Just not comfortable without a spare.

Dpelaez

Thanks for the offer, but I just bought a wheel and tire. Mt Dora is beautiful, worth the drive, but I'm going to pass.

Thanks
Jerry
