TECMA Control Panel Red Light

My red light on the Wall Switch came on. But the tank was not full. Found the upper sensor had fallen off again. Stuck it back up there and red light will still not clear. Filled the tank with water, hoping to reset everything with the sensors on the tank and then dumped the tank and that still did not clear it. Found a frayed black wire in the wall running to the Wall Switch. Fixed that. Pulled the toilet from the wall and unplugged the two wires that go from the Control Box to the Wall Switch. Plugged that back in and still red. I'm out of ideas, anyone out there had the same problem or have a quick fix. As it is we are in 'Red' light tank is full mode so we only have a few flushes left and we are days away from home. Need help.

Is there a quick way to reset the Full Tank Red Light? I've pulled the sensors off the tank. Unplugged the wall switch. Cut the power to the coach including battery power. Ideas?

Add Macerator Toilet to the Thread Title

If there is a moderator on here can you add 'Macerator Toilet' after the word TECMA in the title?

Thanks,
Casey

Thanks for finding that and sending that to me, I too found that yesterday but I don't have a resistor with me and was hoping to find a way to clear that light and continue on my trip. At this point I'm thinking that maybe my Control Box behind the toilet has failed but it's the weekend and I can't talk with Tecma till Monday. Well crap!

I am currently using the 'override' function and hope it continues to let me flush till I get home.

I did find a frayed wire in the wall behind the switch and would guess that perhaps it caused a short that started the failure? But I can't imagine what it would short against in the wall the only metal in there would be the screw holding the toilet paper holder to the wooden wall. That shouldn't short?

I'm still searching for a work around to clear the lights, I would think removing the sensors from the tank would do that but it hasn't. Thanks for your help.

Here is a temporary fix.

EMERGENCY OVERRIDE:
If the tank is full (LED is red) and an emergency flush is needed, press and hold either flush button for 6 seconds to flush toilet. CAU- TION: This may cause overfilling of a waste tank and system back up will flash.

Thanks Scott, we’ve been doing that but my fear is that after five of those you are locked out. I just got back from Lowe’s with some new ‘majic’ tape so I’m going to move the sensors to see if that will do anything.

Removed and reset he sensors

Yesterday I used the only good tape I had with me to reattach the sensor that fell off. Aluminum duct tape. Even though I pulled the sensors off the tank trying to clear the red light nothing seemed to work. So I thought just maybe the sensor doesn’t like metal tape? A trip to Lowe’s and I returned with some water proof tape, “as seen on TV”. I reattached both sensors and voila got my green light. I also repaired a frayed wire in the bathroom wall. I’ll do an update post if any of these field repairs fail.

I can confirm those sensor do not like metal tape.

Any way to see what cause the wire to fray?

From where it was in the wall maybe the screw attaching the toilet paper holder? Not sure. I have a constant green light now. When I get home I’m going to pull that plastic facia panel so I can get access to the tank and see if I can attach the sensors closer to Tecma specs. I don’t think they are in the correct portion of the tank to work properly.
