Tekonsha P3 Install

On the DX3, I located the harness on top of the driver side fuel tank and ran into the interior of the cab.
It had the following wires.
BLUE
RED
WHITE
ORANGE

My new Tekonsha P3 had the generic wiring harness with the following wires.
WHITE - To actual ground of battery.
BLACK - Through 30a circuit breaker to battery positive.
RED - To cold side of brake switch.
Blue - To trailer brake.

Am I to assume correctly that the factory wire harness completes the above requirements as the factory WHITE is routed to the actual ground side of the chassis battery and not a chassis ground screw per the Tekonsha instructions, the factory RED runs to the cold side of the brake switch, the factory BLUE runs to the trailer brake plug for the trailer brakes, and the factory ORANGE is the positive routed through a 20a or 30a auto-reset circuit breaker?

Thanks in advance.

I would recommend you grab a multimeter and verify constant +12 and the brake signal.

I just spliced the harness that came with the P3 directly, rather than but an adapter.

IIRC (its been a few mo) Blue-Blue was correct, and one other but the orange and red were a bit counter intutive. Just need to turn the ignition to on and then press the brake with a multimeter (or test light) to get it confirmed is easiest.

Sorry, murryam. Just saw your PM...but I would have had you post it here anyway. I have an email to engineering to confirm and the forum might be faster.

I also made brake controllers standard on 2018MY to avoid all this nonsense
Not sure who isn't towing with an M2 anyway. Not really a daily driver.

OK, so it was faster than I thought.

Blue: Trailer Brake Controller Output (7 way)
Orange: Trailer Brake Controller Power (chassis power distribution)
White: Trailer brake Controller Ground (controller/dash ground)
Red: Stop lamp

Sweet. Good deal. Thanks for the confirmation. We got our DX3 to go to trade shows to eliminate the logistical headaches and last minute higher expense of motels especially when they are all booked up. We would rather have a consistent show expense that the DX3 provides. We always take our loaded down 26' trade show trailer with us full of road cases, displays and product. We just got this in September and are just now getting a chance to get the DX3 where it needs to be legally and safely with trailer brakes especially with the weight of all of our road cases.
