The controller is rated for 30 amps...I think you can get a 3rd panel up there as we wire it for the max capacity of that controller.

Go Power is the brand and they offer an expansion connector. I know at one time the supplier thought we could use a 10amp controller, but those 100 watt panels are rated at 5.68 Amps. You'd never see that amperage, but that doesn't matter...that's what it is rated at, so two panels is rated at over 11 amps.

Hey Brian
I know you are adding a third panel to our build. Anyway to add another one or two?

I have no idea...For some reason, I felt like we were limited to (3). The math says it could be more, but I'd have to run that past my EE and he's not in today.

get a little snow and everybody loses their mind. It's snow...been the same white stuff since as long as I can remember. slow down, stay off the edges.

Ok
We have a 37RB build if that helps.
Please let me know if possible.
Thanks again.
Or if possible adding a few more and running wires for me?

Converter/Charger

Your Owners Manual has various chargers listed. Which one is installed in the Isata 5 DS?

No go. three only due to system limitations. Has to do with the wiring and as the voltage changes so does the amperage. So 3 is the max that my EE will allow us to do for our set up.

third solar panel

Brian,

I contacted Doug Schroeder about a third solar panel on our Force HD 37TS that its currently being built.

He told me that Dynamax does not do three panels.
I see other forum members that are saying that they are getting three panels.
We are confused about the different information we are receiving.

Our VIN number ends in 2420.

I don't know of anyone getting 3 panels. I do know someone mentioned that in a thread, but I did not confirm it. It could have been a special order that we wanted to proto-type and then we would wait until it was completed and tested before we offer it up to anyone else. I did see a request come in on your coach and the unit was already past the point where that would be installed. So it was not a candidate for proto-type due to its location on the line and I do not have confirmation from the proto-type (that I have not confirmed yet) that we would offer that as an option. So my apologies...its not that we do not do it (even though officially we do not), its that we're not prepared to offer three panels for your coach at this time.

It's not always as simple as it seems. I can't tell you how many mistakes I have made by saying "oh, no problem", only to find out...crap, there is a problem. One I never thought of.

I know they wouldn't put a 3rd on while being build but my understanding is we could put a 3rd one on, I just want to know if the rest of our battery, inverter etc can support a 3rd and how much more will it help for a longer dry camping?

I'll volunteer our build for 3 panels, and prototype testing.

A 3rd is supported according to my EE. I could not however offer up any help on the "how much longer can I dry camp" as there are way too many variables involved.

If everything is exactly the same..then I wold venture to say it will have "some" improvement. Is it enough to justify the cost? Don't know.

It's sort of like an opening for a TV. Maybe I have a 55" TV, but a 60" would fit. Would it really make that big of a difference? Is the cost justifiable? Probably not...but then I am not left wondering if it would have. I will never remember the money I spent...I will just know that there is ZERO gap around the TV.

Agree, the third panel would not make a big difference and you'd soon forget you have it, but it'd be cranking away while you were in storage or dry camping.
