Trailer wire connector

Should this connector have a cap or a cover to protect it from the elements?

Some do some don't (most do not). Personally on my truck I do not worry about it not having a cover.

You can buy a cap at local autoparts or Amazon for pretty inexpensive. Keeps dust and crud out.

Thanks for your responses. I prefer to have a cover. I am concerned about the various concoctions that Pennsylvania puts on roads in the winter.

Probably should add a little dielectric grease to each terminal before adding the cover. It will keep the terminals from corroding.

Local auto parts store might carry them.
