Truma (Fast Flash) descale issue

I just had a customer have an issue with the Truma and was trying to get into a dealer due to no hot water. I informed him that 99% of the time, the Truma is user error.

1. Either the bypass was not-unbypassed.
2. I found out that a customer had the outside shower ON, but had it OFF at the handheld section. This allows water to mix. (most mfg's only do cold outside shower...now I know why)
3. getting it caught in sanitize/clean mode.

He was hoping the dealer would have fixed #3, but I told him Truma knows their stuff better than anyone and a quick call might be the ticket. He did and they resolved it in minutes. He added that they should update the manual to be more specific as getting it out of descale is not a straight forward. Truma's email Instructions are below (paying it forward...thanks to Dr. Cohen)

If you get a "fast flash" yellow...which means the descale was interrupted.

Power to the unit must be on from the main panel

The outside switch needs to be in the “ON” position

Turn rotary dial on inside switch to “ECO” or “Comfort” mode (these are the top 2 positions on the switch)

Open all the hot water faucets in the vehicle- let the water run until the yellow light stops flashing, this could take 15 minutes or so. (During this time you will hear the circulation pump turning off and on in approx. 30 second intervals this is normal. The burner will not ignite)

Once the inside switch stops flashing turn off water

Turn rotary dial to the “off” position

Turn the rocker switch on the AquaGo to the “off” position wait 30 seconds

Turn rocker switch on the AquaGo back on

Turn the rotary dial to the “ECO” or “Comfort” mode (you may need to wake up the dial by turning it on and off a couple times)

The unit should work normally at this time.

I guess #3 could be the issue the dealer tech had with our unit before we picked it up last Friday. The unit would not produce hot water (according to him). He called Truma and they told him to disconnect the control cable at the water heater and just turn it off and on from outside. Works fine without the inside control. Thanks for the information BC, I'll check it out.
