Is your OTA (over-the-air) antenna a omnidirectional, directional, on a short mast or a taller crank up mast. Is it a King Jack or a Winegard antenna? Do you have the signal booster turned on?

The most likely problem is the booster is not turned on. Look for a small button on the plate where the coax goes to the tv. Push the button to turn it on, a small LED will light up next to the button when it's on.

Besides the great advice above to get local channels you have to go into your tv's menu and scan for channels too.

OTA, we have a Winegard multi directional antenna, it is turned on, we scanned on every available option with the same result, 1 channel. There is no booster button or light on the back of the tv, which is a Jensen. ARRRRGH

If the neighbor gets 35 channels and you get one the antenna is not hooked up.

On mine the green light of the booster must be pressed.

Tighten all fittings.

Follow your coax cable from the TV, to a plate on the wall. Look there for the small booster button!

Good luck !

No can do, coax comes out of a hole from a closed compartment, no way to see coax plate unless I take it apart, will check on the roof connection I guess. Thanks to all for suggestions

On mine, the booster button is on the switch panel at the entry steps. It is the 2X4 black panel in the center with a tiny push button and green indicator light. That switch has to be on to power the antenna box on the ceiling. The ceiling box has a power on/off switch, attenuator knob, antenna rotate knob and 4 little lights. Rotate the antenna to get the most lights to light up. If they always all light up, you can adjust the attenuator knob a bit so that 3 lights light up and then rotate the antenna until the 4th light flickers or comes on full. Hope this makes sense.

There are two power buttons on the King Jack. One is on the ceiling which controls the signal strength meter. There is another small button on a wall plate somewhere.

So, which is it, the Winegard you say in post # 5 or the King Jack as chroniekon has pictures of in post # 9 and you say is like yours in post # 10?

The multi-directional/omni-directional are poor for reception. The directional ones have a knob or dial you turn to aim the antenna towards the tv stations transmission tower.

I think those were called "Bat Wing" antennas back in the day.

Winegard makes the bat wing directional antenna. King Jack makes a directional antenna that some have described as a ufo. The round disk type, made by both companies is a multi-directional/omni-directional.

I'm confused by this thread and I build them.

a 2017 you likely have the King Jack Digital Antenna. When you say "lights" do you mean the blue lights or the green light on the black antenna plate at the entry?

chroniekon has shown you everything you need for your setup.
Houstonstroker has described it.

1. Make sure the wall plate at the entry panel has the green light ON.
2. The Blue lights on the ceiling are the sigal meter. That will tell you where the strongest signal is coming from as you rotate the antenna.
3. If both of those are on...you have OTA signal and it is boosted.
4. Go to the TV and go though set up. Over the Air channels and scan per the video that you can find on our Facebook page and Dynamaxcorp web site,

Are you SURE that your neighbor is not hooking up to park cable???? If that is the case, then the little plate at the entry door must be OFF.

Yes that is our set up, although the plate where the on button is located says Winegar, King is written on the antenna & plate where blue lites are. I think we are in a dead zone, everything looks like it is working. The neighbors have a King as well, no cable hook up here. La Siesta, Arivaca AZ. We checked connection to the antenna on the roof & it was good. Moving Monday, will see how it goes. Thanks for input to all.

Yes, the plate is a Winegard plate. The Antenna is King Controls

On my pre owned rig the King antenna had been over rotated to the point of the small coax wire broke. All lights were on no channels.
