Upfitter Wiring

Question for BClemens:

The Ram chassis cab is supposed to come with an upfitter wiring kit. I did not get this kit when I bought my rig. Did Ram not send them out to you guys? Any idea how to get one of these kits?

Thanks

Follow-up question for BClemens:

Do you know what Aux switches 1 and 4 are connected/powering? Not sure if you guys installed the wiring or Ram.

Thanks

I'm not sure what the "up fitter wiring kit" is....Other than they give you 4 up fitter switches.

Aux 1 is the battery boost. Aux 2 is the rear docking lights. (Working on stickers right now to label those). Aux 3 and Aux 4 should be unused.

He "kit" contains some wires with one end having a male end and the other being bare. They come from the factory in a bag in the glovebox. If yours are gone then the easiest thing would be to stop by a ram dealer and pick up the kit. They have weatherproof connectors to keep dirt/water out

If so they go here on the firewall drivers side above the battery. Those 2 groups of 4 ports are the leads for all switches. Click image for larger version

Yes, those are the wires I'm looking for. My rig did not come with the "kit" in the glove box. I'm using Aux 3 to power my backup camera and I had to make my own wire to attach the power lead within the connector. Was wondering if Dynamax received these kits when they receive the vehicles from Ram. I saw a YouTube video that talks about the "upfitter" auxiliary switches and it states that the kit should have come with the vehicle.

It is the wiring kit for the auxiliary switches. The kit has special wires that are installed in the connectors on the Ram 5500 so you can wire in peripherals to Aux switches 1 - 5. I saw the kit in this video:

It's my understanding they are supposed to come with the Ram 5500 chassis cab.

Edit: Aux switches 1 and 2, not 4.

Jlole76,

Yes I do have the Aux switches and I do know where the connectors are in the engine bay. I'm using Aux switch 3 to power a backup camera and I don't have the special wiring kit to use with the connectors. I believe these are supposed to come with the Ram 5500, but they didn't come with my rig.
