What caulking to use?

We have a 2018 ISATA 3. We have had it for a little over a year. We love it and have had very little issues with it. The caulking between the cab and the bunk has started to crack. Were can I get the proper caulking to put a new bead down? How do you color match it? It looks like it was just painted over.

Thanks for your help!Click image for larger version

Well, believe it or not ~ I'd check with a Marine/Boat repair facility to start with.

The best thing to use on anything which hangs outside of your camper's body is Marine Grade Silicone, not something you might use around the home since marine grade won't yellow and is UV resistant. Not only that, they paint boats don't they?

Good luck ~~

Lexel is by far one of the best sealants available and is paintable. It is more adhesive than silicone and lasts a lot longer.

X2

Clear Lexel may go unnoticed if applied carefully, but if you must paint, it's likely that you can color match with something like Duplicolor auto paint for touchup.

There are some places we have to seal before painting, but in most cases we don't seal until after and then we just use black. The paint will never hold forever. Today what we do is go over those areas with black sealant. That way it becomes less of a maintenance item.
