Xantrex model # in DX3 please

I assume the picture in the DX3 Gallery of a Magnum Inverter is outdated. Thank you.

the online features sections just states a 2800w Pure sine wave inverter/charger, and the gallery photos show a Magnum unit, but it's possible they've changed to the Xantrex line instead, though I suppose it's possible that there could be a mixture of the two if the Magnums in stock have yet to be installed in new units.

Never Mind Xantrex Freedom SW 3012

OK so I know the model currently being used. I am surprised it does not specifically support LiFeP04 batteries. Xantrex has introduced RV support for LiFeP04 batteries already in other chargers. From my golf cart experience with a good charger, its pretty easy for the manufacture to include lots of specific algorithms. A good article on this can be found https://battlebornbatteries.com/char...po4-batteries/ Perhaps in time, they will include such support and maybe with luck it can be easily added to the existing units? I note the Victron Inverter/charger unit currently does support the newer batteries.

The Xantrex has the ability to define custom charging configurations. It is my understanding that the 3012 CAN be used with those LiFePO4 batteries. If you’ve found that not to be the case I’d love to hear what you discovered, because replacing the AGMs with lithiums in our DX3 is on my list.

Thanks!
JT

We were using the Xntrex Freedom, we have recently changed over to the Magnum line. We felt the control panel was easier to use and understand.

Thank you. In looking at the spec sheet and user manual it would appear they only support flooded or AGM/GEL type batteries. That does not mean the Battle Born units would not work, just that you would not get their full usefulness. Nowhere on their website do they discuss the new technology batteries.... I am not an electrical engineer but the Navy assigned me to fly several carrier based jets and I enjoy researching the platform I am going to purchase as if my life might one day depend on it.

Therein lies some of the issue with Lithium. Everyone says it "Should" work...but no one will put their money where their mouth is. Almost all Lithium's have built in protection for over charging and charging parameters...but when you pair that with a mother charging profile, how does it read the needs of the lithium? So there should be a charging algorithm for lithium...I know the solar controllers have them.
