If that's what it is, it's described as an AM/FM amplified antenna. Guessing the FM part is dipole. Maybe the AM is just not connected?
That be the one! When I finally get the coach outside I will muck around with the AM.

Amazon customer review. Customers connected red 12v dc antenna amplifier wire to 12 volt source and the skinny black ground wire from antenna to ground.
Did anyone check if this is case with xite radio in rv.
Does it need those connections to work properly.

I may be staying the obvious here, but I have the Xite in my DX3 and I’m pretty sure I have a loc and dx function on mine, which I thought applied to AM. I only used AM once when I was playing with it when I first picked up my rig and had a choice of stations. Are yours set on loc instead of DX?

I’m no expert on this and I’m sure someone on this forum is more qualified but I thought it applied to both am and fm. I have a Sony portable am radio, which I never use, and pretty sure that has a dx / loc button. I think it stops interference from strong stations interfering when trying to tune or listen to more distant stations. AM is extremely temperamental and can depend on the weather when try I get to tune distant stations, I believe !!!!
