Another thought...if galley valve open all the time to drain into sewer connection at site, when it's done drain'n, it's open to galley tank which has a vent, so sewer gases would be there....
I don't understand with your great concern with sewer gas's? every CG on a septic system has sewer gas escaping from some where. If you were parked next to me you wouldn't know if my galley valve was open or closed. In a Corp CG right by my house you can see 8- 12'' risers and 90 degree elbows in the septic tank area and they do not even have sewer hook-up's that just for all the bathrooms and showers. As I said before CG with sewer hook-up are mostly left with the cap off or not screwed in or the cap is missing and a rock put over them. Now to me that's realistic. Most campers just leave the hose on the ground which fills with water until you use it and then it pushes it down the drain. Most fittings to the sewer connection is higher then ground level. So how much gas can be escaping? I try to have a positive flow but always end up with a home made p-trap where the sewer line falls between my slinkey. I can't count the times that when I break camp I have to walk the hose back to empty it. You can get even worst gas by the black tank vent on a system that hasn't been maintained. I just say to myself wow that guy needs to dump his black tank... Watch out for the EPA they are watching you BOB. You know what I do wonder is what people do with a cottage type unit? I guess OC will tell us when he gets one this year...:roflblack
My cottage type unit has a blackwater tank and no grey water tanks. They vent the campground through my drain vents. We put plugs in the sinks when we leave to prevent traps from being drained by back pressure. Dump the tank when it is full or when leaving.
