It's a Sabre silhouette 291bhts. We love it. Had a lance pickup camper before. Growing family needs more room😃

Trying to see if anyone does any tandem towing with them. We have a 20' ski boat we will be towing. It weighs around 4500 with the dual axle trailer.

Welcome to the sabre family. Congrats on the new silhouette, may it bring you many happy camping memories. I am no expert on towing tandem but I do know it is illegal in some states. Other states there are length limits that a 20' boat may well put you over. Another consideration is whether or not adding a hitch will void the warranty. Just some starting points for you to look into.

I live in South Dakota. It is legal and the length restriction is 75' so we are ok there. I just hope and pray that the frame is strong enough for the extra weight.

I'd agree, frame is too weak and i bet sway would be crazy with that setup. I have the sabre 36qbok and even if it was shorter with the same frame i have now, there is no way its heavy enough to pull a trailer that heavy behind it. I think the 400 lb rating on my bike rack might be too much weight if the limit was done very much. With that much load, i would bet the sidewalls would even start cracking or at least separating from the floor section.

Dealer never had any concerns or mentioned anything about voiding warranty. Going to give it a try. Short trips first. Wish me luck! **** it!

Dealer doesn't know what he's talking about.
Sounds as if your mind was already made up.
Like I said a sabre representative told me absolutely do not pull anything behind a sabre camper.
It will definitely void the warranty.

Not only do you have to worry about the rear frame but also the pin box.
Pin box is not designed for that kind of pull forces.

Btw...whats the tongue weight on your boat, you might check it. I know my boat is pretty tongue heavy and its about the same weight as yours.
My main concern would be the boat tongue weight taking too much away from the 5er hitch weight and causing a serious sway issue.
I guess you'll find out. Stay safe!
