New Sabre any good? Quality?

I am currently in a Rockwood RV my family is out growing. I saw the new 2018 36BHQ online. It looks impressive for the price. But I’m concerned about the build quality. Rockwoods are solid RV’s it’s never been in the shop. What kind of quality do the Sabre units have now? They used to be quality products but the pricing on the new ones make me question if it will hold up. Let me know what you think.

You know with these units all coming under the same corporate umbrella I don't know that there is a real distinction in build quality from on one brand to the other. I think it's more a thing of luck of the draw some are good some not so good. JMHO

We have one, haven’t noticed or found anything major and I live in it 5 days a week. Little things like poor caulking, loose screws, latches not adjusted properly etc.

Sabres aren't quite as good as they used to be IMO. Before they were built with what was touted as a "Sabre cage" which meant the roof supports were all aluminum. But in the last few years they've started making them out of wood instead.

The dealer where I bought mine quit carrying the line for that very reason.

Here's a brochure that describes it. I think they stopped right around the same time they dropped the Palimino name. Mine is a 2015 and I think that was the last year they were made with the aluminum roof.

Sabre used to made by Palomino.
The brand was moved from Palomino's Michigan factory, to the FR division in Indiana and was completely changed.
Like the change from aluminum/filon construction to stick and tin construction.

I have a 2015 Sabre 33 CKTS-6 made under the Palomino name. It will be making its second trip back to the factory in two years for an issue they can't seem to fix. Love the trailer except for when it gets wet while driving. Dry as a bone when parked (folded up or extended) but not when you drive in the rain or even on wet roads. Last winter they improved the problem but it still leaks. Two different dealers have worked on it as well but without positive results. I will give Forest River credit--they are trying to make it right and have paid for everything.

We have same problem with our 2014 33CKTS. Would you mind telling me who you are dealing with at FR in regards to this issue ... carpet getting weight when travelling. We can't duplicate issue when taking to dealer so we aren't able to get fixed. Your assistance would be appreciated. Thank you

We went today and looked at the Sabre. The quality on the 36BHQ was not there. I really wanted to like it. Pricing $39995 was very good with nice options. We are looking at a Palamino Compass 377MBC now Should know tomorrow.

2014 sabre luxury edition srt260rlss

Thinking about purchasing this unit from private owner. Appears to be a solid unit with many nice features. Anyone familiar with this model and can provide some feedback. Thanks

We had a 2012 264 or 267 sabre surveyor TT ... we liked it but found it a little cramped with a single slide ... other than that, bathroom was a great size ... ours had two doors ... which I really liked ...

I currently have a 2012 31RETS-6 made under Palomino with the aluminum cage, really like it and will hang onto it, after the change was made to FR things changed as noted before, the dealer I purchased from was getting more substantial problems with the newer units and eventually dropped the line because of that.
