Sabre Slide Outs
Anyone having trouble with Black plastic that is on the bottom of the floor of the slide outs on the sides. Ours seems like it is being sliced when we slide it. Frustrating How does everyone like their Sabre's. We have a 2013 FW, 32 RCTS 6

Our slide in our XLR leaves a black skid mark once in a while from that black under the slide. But it isn't shredding. Just leaves a mark that I have to clean up.

tsockri,
I love my 32RCTS! I am not sure you are having the same issue as I had but I will try and explain what I was dealing with. When I deployed the slides, I noticed a 3" wide white plastic strip that ran the length of the slide directly under the carpet flap. One end was "loose" and over time, I think two screws were the only thing holding it down. I would shove the strip back in and enjoy camping. When I went to pull the slide in, I would make sure to stop and check the position of that glide strip and if it was out of place, push it back in. I thought about applying some construction adhesive while the slide was fully deployed but waited until I went to the International FROG Rally in Goshen, IN. There, Forest River sent techs out to the rig and replaced them for free. The issue was the size of the holes that were already drilled into the strips when FR got them from their vendor. Plus, the techs at the factory used screws that were not large enough to fill the space and the strip eventually popped off. Since they (both slide glide strips) have been replaced, I have not had a problem. Hope this helps.

Sounds like he is referring to the black glide pieces at each end edge of the slide - the help glide the slide in and out otherwise the edges would cause problems. We have had to have our changed a couple of times as being plastic they either come apart or break over time - now carry extra ones so we have them when we need them. (they are right and left side ones)
Note: we have had issues in the past with both the black ones and the white/clear full length glider ones under the slides

Where did you purchase these from? I noticed last week that one of mine is broken and the other end has come loose. On the piece that broke free, it did a small amount of damage to the floor. Thanks for whatever info you can provide.

We go the extras from Sabre when they had to do them in the fall. They have left and right ones. If you are going to the Rally in Aug. & put them on your service list, they will no doubt do them for you then. (what, if you can, how they do them). Get another set from them even if it costs you a few dollars. If you are not going to the rally, your dealer can do them after getting parts from Sabre. How long they will last depends on how often you put the slide/s in and out as well as the weather. (hot vs cold)
Good luck and post how you make out.

I won't be able to attend the rally this year. If I could they would be on my list. I'm not sure how they could be replaced without taking the slide out. Would be an interesting experience to see it done. I'll see about getting some from someone at Sabre. Thanks for the response, and I'll drop you a PM when I get it figured out. Thanks again.

This is what keeps breaking the black plastic glides on my Sabre. The floor of the slide is actually separating from the slide when it's slide in and then when I extend the slide out it breaks the black plastics slide piece when floor is forced back up into the slide by the ramp pieces mounted on the floor. After a few times in and out it will totally tear into. I just figured out the cause of this while on a trip last week. My trailer is scheduled for another trip to the factory in November so I hope they can fix this when its in Indiana.
