Second Air Conditioner on 2015 33'Sabre
I am considering adding a second AC unit (13,500 Btu Coleman-Mach 3)over our bed. Vent, power, and stat wiring is already in place. There is duct available tying into the main duct going back to the main unit. Do you block or leave connected the duct between the living area and bedroom or is it best to use a non ducted unit to just treat the bedroom? My main AC is a 15k Btu Dometic Brisk 2. It has difficulty cooling the unit in the Florida sun. It also is very noisy. Located over the TV makes it difficult to hear the TV without the volume way up. I can't imagine trying to sleep under the Dometic. Any suggestions on a better AC selection would be appreciated. I am trying go low noise and light weight.

Get a ducted unit and appropriate items and leave the duct work as is DO NOT block one from the other.
I just installed a 13.5k ducted on my unit.
If you want quiet do not install an a/c in your bedroom.

Thank you for the comments. Maybe the answer is put the unit in the bedroom, but turn it off at night and let the main unit do the cooling. If it supplemented the main unit during the day, together they would be able to cool the camper. At night the load is light and the main unit can provide the necessary cooling.

Do you have a 50 amp service?
If only 30 amp you will not be able to run BOTH at the same time during the day.

I installed mine ducted works great. If running at night it cycles a lot tho, I usually just run the fan only on low at night helps drown out the campground noise.

My wife and I like the noise the unit makes. it drowns out any outside noises that may be around at the campground and we sleep well.

At night I just turn on the living area AC on and leave the one in the bedroom off. Later RJD
