Silly 1/2 bath fan

Ok, so who is 8' tall and can open the vent on the bath fan?

I guess a fan tastic is in order?

I replaced my normal fan tastic with the fully automated one. I love it. The DW needs to always relearn how to use it. I love the fact that if it rains it closes. (happens sometimes when I shower but can be overridden) and when it dries it opens back up....Got mine on Amazon. Was east to replace one fan tastic with another.

I wish to do the same but it needs its own power so that bath light does not need to be on for power. Please advise if there is another way.

I guess your talking in the main bath?
My main bath has a fantastic fan factory and my wife and i don't have any problems opening it by hand.
Now in the half bath, i have to stand on the stool and I think I've had it open once or twice. I've heard of people taking a piece of pvc pipe and cutting notches in it so it will fit into the grooves on the nob, and you can just fit it up to the nob and twist to open.
My 1/2 bath only has a light switch.
I believe one if the guys put a remote controlled fan a lid, believe it was posted in the 36qbok-7 mod thread

I'm looking as well with no luck. 36qbok-7 mod has no results.

Thank you for the link..... So by what I seen you have to leave the bath light on to power the fan?

It does look that way in the pics.

There is a constant down at the switch for the light. I believe you could pull the light wires down from the switch area and fish another set of wires back up with them and just wire it in hot there at the switch or add another switch there. It would probably take quite a bit more time to do though.

Well thats cool!
The rest of us just have a vent back there factory i believe. At least mine does and there wasn't an option for adding one at the time.
