We saw 2 Sabres in the wild!

Ok, most of you probably think this is a dumb thread, but my family and I are always bummed out that we never see any Sabres. Probably largely due to the fact that we live in CT and there aren't any dealers within 250 miles.

We went to Lake George, NY last week and saw a Sabre going the other way in the highway as we were heading there. Then as I was packing up and getting ready to leave yesterday a QBOK exactly like ours drove right past our campsite and the guy beeped at us. My kids came flying out of the camper and we were all super excited!!!! I can't believe the guy didn't stop. I just want to spend some quality time with another Sabre owner.

We own a 33CKTS Sabre and will see occasionally see one or two other Sabre models. Like you, we get excited when we see other Sabre's at the State Parks we visit. Solid value for the money. Oh, did I mention the DW and I live in Indiana?

We also have a Sabre 33ckts. I love the floorplan. We attended the F.R.O.G. international rally and saw a few Sabres there. I even got a Sabre ballcap ($5). I wanted to go to the factory for a tour but they were not giving tours to the Sabre plant. We did go on the Columbus plant tour though. It was very interesting. I couldn't believe how fast the workers were moving. I was told they work on piece work. Many get their production finished by noon and go home. Hence the speed at which they work. Some, especially the Amish, are farmers and do their farm work after leaving the plant.

We live in Missouri just south of Kansas City and have the Sabre 33CKTS as well. We don't see many Sabres when we are out and about. Great floorplan and after reading BuckeyeChuck's comments about the speed and piece work; that might help explain the quality of our particular unit. It returns to the factory at the end of this camping season to see if the factory can figure out the issues that 3 different trips in for service couldn't.

Workmanship has to suffer when they work that pace.

Work at that pace to get poor workmanship and then put customer satisfaction at risk. Now it goes back to the factory at their expense to correct (hopefully) the issues they caused. Not sure the risk is worth it.

What do they say...."pics or it didn't happen". Here's a Sabre RKDS in the wild at Hurricane Creek Cadiz, KY today. We rarely see these cats in the campground and even less frequently on the highway. My FR dealer tells me that Sabre owners are upgrading to Columbus/Sierra units then when he resells the Sabre they usually go to semi-permanant seasonal lake site, never to be seen again. Endangered species?

I pass a Sabre along our route to our permanent spot at Keystone Lake. I finally got a pic of it today as i drove by.
It for sale, but i cant tell what model it is.
I think our Sabre may get the chance to have a new owner soon as well.

Why is the icon for the Sabre forum dimmed? Haven't seen any postings here for a few days...is that why?

Yes, the website remembers when you last read something there and will only Highlight the icon when something has been added since you last looked.

Thanks...glad we're still alive, if only in a state of weather induced suspended animation.

I'll be on the road the second week of February taking it back to the dealer. Simple repairs hopefully. My first oops also to be repaired too. Break in the bath sky light top.
