104d code on dash display

When I turn my key to the on position I get a 104d code at the top of the center display. When I start the motor the code goes away after a few seconds and the miles appear. Any idea what this code could mean? I don't think it was there when I put the motorhome away in the fall.

Either 104 days to service or 104 days past service. Check tomorrow and you will know if it's counting up or down

Thanks. Found a you tube video on how to reset it and it is gone. I find it odd that the reminder is in days instead of miles.

Well, you shouldn't reset it without figuring out if you have a service interval coming up or missed one. Service interval logic includes both miles and years (days). With normal service interval being 20,000 miles, if you only drive the RV 5,000 miles per year you will not hit that for four years, but you will first hit the service interval by time most likely at 2 years. This is warranty required service. After the warranty period, of course, you are on your own. But keep in mind oil breaks down over time too. So even on "normal" vehicles, oil changes are required by time if you do not run up the mileage.

It currently has 11,800 miles and I changed oil at 8,300 but did not reset then so that must be why the computer is only showing days (time) instead of miles to the next service date. In 104 days it will be approx. 2 years that it left the manufacturer.

It counts down in miles when you get within 1000 miles of the 10,000 mile required service (it shows momentarily on the odometer when starting the engine) and then it counts up in days once you get past the change interval, which is 10,000 miles or 2 years on my 2014 model, whichever comes first.

I show 20,000 and 40,000 mile intervals.

Newer models went to 20k service intervals. My 2014, on a 2013 chassis, requires 10k intervals to stay in compliance with warranty provisions. Can't remember which year they changed oil intervals, I think in the '15 chassis, maybe. Same engine, just longer intervals. Regardless, I'd likely not run it up to 20k, but that's just me. It's easy to change the oil and it is relatively cheap insurance, especially if you do it yourself.

Wow, good to know of the change.

Yeah, we changed at 8,200 due to the time schedule (in our case, 2 years on the 2015 chassis). Most RV'ers won't typically put on 10K/yr., though some surely will.

I also hit the 2 year mark around 8200 miles, but now I'm close to 17500 miles in just over the previous 10 months! It shows 700 miles on the dash until service is due, so I'll change it to stay in keeping with the warranty. After the warranty expires, I'll likely let it go to 15k+ intervals and probably use a slightly heavier oil weight, unless I trade it off for a new W before then!
