That would not be the access route for the 2401R. In our unit with the sofa IPO dinette, it is accessible by removing the sofa cushion and acting like a monkey. Our is working so I haven't looked at the controls, but I will on next visit.

If you lay the sofa down flat as a bed, there is a large gap on the window side where you can reach down and access the controls. The iPhone torch or a flashlight held to see what is what down there.

The subwoofer was screwed to the outside wall under the dinette seat in our 2401R with overhead entertainment. You can't get to adjustments without removing it. Once adjusted and removing all the sawdust attached to it seems to work just fine.

Does anyone know where the subwoofer is located in the Forester 2401S? I've just taken 2401S out for the first time and the "C" speaker button on my JWM6A stereo does nothing. I'm assuming I have the same problem others in this thread are having where the volume on the subwoofer is turned down all the way.

In our 2401R, it's under the couch. Look under couch or dinette.

Consider yourself lucky, on the w it is built into the drawer cabinet under the hanging closet. There is no way to remove or even turn around to see the controls without cutting out the drawer divider - it's locked in there.

I am going to cut mine in half with a multi tool and make a enclosure that fits through the drawer slot, then change the amp and sub out to JL audio.

Attn: bclemens Could you ask production to be sure sub-woofers are turned ON when installed? Having them off makes no sense.

Also having them in non-accessible locations does not make sense. At least a hatchway is needed for adjustments, attachments and service needs.

Thanks!

The sub in my W thumps when the radio is powered off. Anybody else experiencing that issue? I know it's not harmful to the system but find it rather annoying.

Ours also thumped when the radio was powered on/off. I don't think it's noticeable now that it's adjusted properly but I'll check it tomorrow. Yes it's annoying....

This is not unusual in any stereo system shut down. It may indicate your sub is turned up quite a bit so you may want to adjust it down.

Oh gawd, did I say stereo? I'm dating myself. (I still have my 1972 Marantz 2215 TWO channel receiver and it's still a gem.)

Mine is under the dinette bench seat immediately behind the driver.

I looked under both my dinette bench seats but didn't find any subwoofer. I'm beginning to wonder if they ever installed a subwoofer.

I suspect I'd be wondering the same, I'm not sure where else they would put it in the S floorplan.
