2016 coachmen prism steps wont work!

our 2016 Mercedes Benz Coachmen Prism 2150 LE, steps stopped working. at least there in not out but unit sits to high to enter. did not get any owners manuals tried checking fuses both under drivers seat and under bed. there is power to switch. step light does not come on so I'm thinking no power but can't really find access to motor. Memorial day weekend and we are stuck at home trying to find a solution. fixed them in are last motorhome but this is mind boggling any help would be soooo appreciated!

I read about this issue in a recent thread. The problem was identified as a faulty contact at the bottom of the screen door. This is the switch that activates the steps when you open and close the screen.
Wish I could be of more help.

Steps won’t work

Check under the tread on bottom inside step. The door sensor wires run under there. Mine shorted out fixed the short been working ever sense. My motor home is 2016 prism 2200.
Good luck. Scotty33

There is an inline fuse down near the step(outside in front of the propane tank). Look for a red wire. I also had water in the quick disconnect to the steps. Took that apart and dried it.

Most of the time it is a low charge on house batteries. Charge up and work again might do it..

Keep in mind that the mechanism for the steps lives in the worst environment, exposed the all the stuff coming off the road behind the front wheel. I attended a View/Navion rally at Quartzite last January (they use the same brand of step), and spray-on lithium grease came highly recommended (WD 40 makes it). Shoot it all around under there and you will get a much smoother moving step.
