2017 MBS 2401R bedroom door

Hey fellow MBS owners, wife and I are currently starting week 4 of an 8 week adventure. Started from home in Lake Placid, NY with stops at Antietam, Claytor lake, Douglas Dam, Nashville, Memphis, Little Rock, Hot Springs, Austin, San Antonio, currently in Houston, then to Baton Rouge, Gulf Shores, Jacksonville and then back north via Columbia SC, Shenandoah, Philly and then the Catskills. Anyway, just went to close the wood door to the bedroom and noticed the track had pulled out of the ceiling. Anyone else ever had this happen to them? Any quick fixes? Or should we wait until the rally in Goshen and have FR fix it then? Thanks for any suggestions.

Susan and Steve

Not exactly a quick fix, but the door can be removed from the track pretty easily. The hangers on top have a lever which rotates to free the door from the hanger. (I did this on mine since I didn't really need the door...or its weight...)

X2 with Dave. As we travel with normally 2 we found it was in the way so removed door and track. Saves weight and more room.

I left the track and hangers in place...and used them to hang a curtain, with a tie back by the bathroom sink.

We have read that a number of owners have removed the door, but we like it as it gives us some privacy since one of us is an early riser and the other sleeps a little later

Well...never mind!

You can probably just screw it back into the ceiling - maybe add a couple of additional screws.

BUT ... unless you know what's on the other side of the ceiling you may well put a screw somewhere bad. I did that with some tie downs I added to my storage area and put a screw into some hidden wiring. Took me quite a while to track it down and then I had to cut a hole in the compartment floor to fix it. Bummer.

Anyway, if you can live with it in the meantime I'd suggest leaving it for the FR tech guys - if they put a screw wrong they can probably fix it!

If you want to try and replace the track yourself I recommend using the original screw holes. That way you won't need to be concerned about wiring. What I do is epoxy round toothpicks inside the original holes around the perimeter and break them off even with the surface. The toothpicks and epoxy provide a strong place for the screw to grab. Just a thought.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Not knowing what's above, I'm afraid to screw anything into the ceiling. We ended up wedging a 6' 1x2 between the floor and track to hold up the frame in the corner and using a door stop to hold the door back. Will wait until Goshen and have one of their techs take care of it.
