2401w bed/slide question

We are looking to buy this fp but need to know when the slide is in could you nap on the queen bed or is it totally unusable? One of us likes to rest while the other is driving sometimes.

I would make the table into a bed before driving off. It's fast and easy. The bed, folded up, is not very stable.

I have slept on it while folded but it is difficult to get in due to the height. It is also very short.

I assume you don't have to to be hooked up to shore power or fire up the generator to slide out?

No, we have ours at home for a week or two at a time, unplugged. Slide always works. So far. Unfortunately we can't keep it at home all the time.
If the battery got low, we would have have to run the generator.

I was thinking about this, for real rest, it might be better to get a style that you could sleep in the bed even when on the road. Sleeping on the dinette bed is ok for us, we're 5'5" and less. But it's bright in the daytime and if the radio is on, well, not very restful. We are planning full time travel and I am wondering about this now.

DW sleeps on dinette bed much of the time. I turn off the speakers in that area while on the road.
