Awning LED lights power problem - 2014 Solera 24S led

Hi Folks,

My awning LED lights crapped out on me so I ordered some new LED lights via the slow boat from China . I went to replace them today and found that I don't have any power now to my awning lights.

My concern is is I removed the old awning lights the switch was in the on position which may have caused a short while I remove the strips. The switch light shows power. I checked the wires for power , no power thats why I think there is an inline fuse.

I am now searching for an inline fuse and I'm wondering if anybody can suggest where the location of the appropriate fuse. The wires seem to disappear into the sidewall via the awning support arm and all the fuses on the inside panel are good to go.

Not 100% sure where the LED fuse light is, but if you have not located it - it's possible that it is in the Battery Control Center (BCC) located to your left as you enter the coach by the stairs.

Remove the black cover panel with the thumbscrews and check - there are several 12 volt fuses located in here for various components - including the awning itself. Not sure if the LED's are powered through the same circuit as the awning extend/retract circuit, but it's worth checking.

Looking at the wiring diagram for the the 24R models - it does appear that the LED awning light is on the same circuit as the awning. If so, it is fuse F-8 in the BCC.

Thanks for the quick reply. I did check the battery control centre but the diagram was not very clear. I was able to check one 15 amp fuse which was fine. As for the awning it is still operating.
I have a hunch the fuse is hidden.

Attached is an extract from the wiring diagram. It shows that the awning LED is on circuit 13, which appears to be the same circuit as the awning itself and is protected by fuse F-8 on the BCC.

Well my awning still works. I wonder if the awning lights are on a separate fuse. By the way where did you obtain the electrical legend . I have asked but did not get one

I see the good folks on the FR assembly line cleaned up after themselves about as well on yours as mine.

Attached is the complete electrical schematic - hope this provides you the information you need.

I assume you have checked power on both sides of the switch. Since it's a DC circuit, the ground is frequently the culprit of an inoperative component - so maybe you should check continuity of the ground wire at the LED lights to a known good ground. If that's good - check the continuity of the wire from the switch (unpowered of course) to the positive lead on the LED lights. This would confirm your diagnosis of either a broken wire or a blown fuse.

Take the switch panel off next to the stairs. (4 screws) I recall there is a inline fuse behind it.

That could be your problem, it may of blown when you were removing.

Pull the bottom drawer out under the sink - it provides good access to the back of the switches, the wiring and the converter. Plus you can clean out all the construction debris likely remaining near the converter fan shroud. One poster here had a converter burn up because of the debris that clogged the converter cooling fan.

Please let us know if/where you find the fuse - good information for the rest of us.

Thanks everyone, as usual the forum comes through with good information.
I will be removing the bottom drawer today. I will share what I have found.

I will remark on the quality control of the production line there is need for some improvement
Regarding out-of sight quality. Behind and below the bottom drawer is not a pretty site.

Where can I get drawings for a 2016 2400w. It would be great not to have to start taking things apart to find where things like the converter or water pump are located.

Ok, I removed the lower drawer to find the fuse but it was stashed full of wires and a heater hose and insulation crap.
Better way is to unscrew the switch plate where the awning lights which is and pull it out gently there is a three amp fuse connected to the awning switch. When I pulled the fuse it was obvious that it was blown so what did I learn, it is better to work with electricity when it's in the off position less likely to blow fuses etc. I have attached three photos give you a clear view of the switch plate and a fuse holder and now I'm off to the store for more fuses.
