Can I get on the Roof 2400R

I have been RVing for years. My Forest River 2400R is the first RV I have owned without a ladder. I have always assumed if you had a ladder on the back you can go on the roof. I was wondering if I can walk safely on the roof.

I go on mine every 6 months to clean the solar panels and skylights, check and repair dicor seems. No problems but it may depend on your weight

The only reason it doesn't have a ladder is that the rear slideout is in the way (though at least one owner installed a narrow one next to the slideout...)

Anyway, the other models, essentially identical except for the floorplan, all have ladders.

I was told during PDI of our 2400W that weight limit on roof is 300 lbs .. I agree with reply above .. no ladder due to rear slide

Was on the roof of my 24R today doing some cleaning. Not a problem at all.
Been up there plenty of times in the last 4 years. No ladder is strictly a space issue.

Unless the slide out is in the middle of the back of the motor home there is no way you can install a ladder. Our 2500TS Sun Seeker has the bed room slide out back and there was lots of room on the back of the unit to the side of the slide to do the ladder install. I just installed one this past week and just prior to that got the part number from Forest River and the schematic so I knew I had the correct ladder.
An easy install in about 2 - 3 hours.

There are collapsible ladders available that you can use to get on the roof instead of a fixed ladder. The roof is designed to support your weight.
