Arrow Check those tire valves stems!

If you have a 2016 MBS Forester (like ours) you should make it a priority to swing by your trusted tire shop and have them check your valve stems. On a recent trip (thankfully local) we lost all air in an inner rear tire. When I tried to fill it, it was obvious that the stem was the problem. Roadside assistance told us we had a low pressure (<40-50 lbs) valve stem. Got that one fixed. Went to local tire shop, who confirmed they were all low pressure stems. A cheap fix at the shop, but pricey and a pain on the road.

Us too..

We experienced the same thing, however we were 2000 miles from home. Thank goodness we had coach net. I had install tire pressure monitors and was notified when pressure started down. It took less than 60 seconds to go from 70lbs to 0 lbs. We probably have had to buy a tire if I hadn't put on the tpms. Cost $31 for stem replacement on road. Cost Coachnet $360 for call. I will have the others checked when we get back home.

IMHO, the best safety investment one can do is install a TPMS.

Best remedy is to install all metal valve stems.
