From my point of view I'd agree as our failure happened when it was bone dry. Intermittent connection right inside the Curt controller.

Lets Look To August 18 for that solution !

Based on the Recall Notice, I am sure we are all waiting to see what FR has for us. Once they have a detailed solution, the next problem is finding a Dealer that you trust to do the work ! I wonder if we will have the option of requesting parts and documentation for ourselves, as most of us are better at repairing our rigs than most of the dealers

My rig is also affected according to the dates in the Recall, but I have not experienced an issue.

If we can all just keep our rigs out of water until then...

Report Receipt Date: JUN 27, 2016
NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V465000
Component(s): EXTERIOR LIGHTING
Potential Number of Units Affected: 1,999

I can't quite tell where it is located - apparently not behind the bumper.

Just FYI I had my 2016 24R in for warranty here in Henderson at Camping World and they talked to FR about the recall and were told FR did not have a fix yet but acknowledged it was a recall. CW told me no problem they would fix whenever it is backed by FR. Good service there.

It tucked in a tight slot between bumper and compartment FR 2401R. What is it for?

This weekend was my turn to have the curt controller fail. Left tail light on with Solera off and no rear turn signals. The Rv was at Mercedes for Cel that turned out to be failed def injector. Replaced injector, updated software and replaced both Nox sensors ( old sensors "not compatible with CDI SW update") all under warranty. The tail light was on when we picked it up after rain and the dealer had washed the coach. I checked the deutch connectors and trailer plug. No water intrusion. Installed the Curt controller spare I have been carrying , fixed the problem. The controller itself failed, not the connectors this time. I have my recall notice and waiting for a final fix for this light problem.

Curt Controller

Make sure you put a diaper on it like the rest of us. Either a garbage bag and ten yards of duct tape, or a large Zip Lock back and duct tape. After a month of drying out mine is working again, but then again I haven't driven it in a rainstorm.
