EGR Noise

I just brought home a new-to-me 2016 Forester 2401W with 9000 miles on it tonight to replace my 2014 Solera 24R, which I plan on selling.
After shutting the new rig down and getting my toad put away from the 4 hour trip home, I kept hearing a short, intermittent whine noise which I determined was coming from the driver side engine compartment. The noise continued, off and on, for about an hour.
A little googling indicated it is the EGR valve recycling and, according to some posts, not of great concern unless it is continuous and doesn't stop until the battery drains. I never have experienced this with my 2014, so it is something that I want to correct under warranty, if need be.
Anyone else experience this and does it need any attention?
And if anyone is looking for a very nice 24R, PM me.

Don't if there's a difference between 2013 and 2016, my EGR valve is on the passenger side near the DEF filler.
