EZ oil drain valve

For those of us that change their own oil, I was wondering if anyone has used the EZ oil drain plug? I first saw it last year in motorhome magazine and was thinking of getting one before my next oil change but wanted to look at some input first. The cost is last than $30 for the plug and it looks easy to use and install, What do you think?

Have used them on both of my motorhomes. Never a problem and a really simple way to change oil.

I use one on my Dodge Ram diesel, makes for a real nice and easy oil change. This engine holds a lot of oil, the first time removing the drain plug it gushed out of there and made quite a mess. That no longer is a problem.

I use a similar valve on all of my vehicles including race cars. I suggest taking a look at the Fumoto brand - the original designer of the valve.

I use the Fumoto quick valve. It has a very positive locking spring. Sure makes changing the 15 quarts in the 6.0 a breeze I also have one in each cooling drain

I have used both the EZ Oil and the Fumoto. Currently using the Fumoto. Both were great for making the changes painless and clean. Never had any leaks or issues.

I use the Fumoto with the nipple to attach a drain hose to bypass a chassis cross member. Without it the oil drains directly onto the cross member. Makes for a no mess drain.

I changed the oil about a month ago and installed a Fumoto valve then

I bought the snap on nipple thing and put a 2 ft piece of hose on it.

Next oil change should be a little cleaner and easier: Snap the hose onto the valve, open the valve, and come back in 20 minutes.

Thanks for the input guys, after looking I went with the Fumoto also, was able to get the kit with hose, safety clip and everything needed. Also got 10% discount for father's day.

Just bought the Fumoto on Amazon. Will be in stalling it in my next oil change.

Arrow Torture Tested!

I installed the Fumoto Valve several years ago in the oil pan of my Ford Super Duty.

I drove from Northern Illinois to Dawson Creek British Columbia, the start of the Alaska Highway.

I drove the Alaska Highway to Fairbanks, the entire highway loop in Alaska and 1100 miles of gravel roads in the Yukon Territory

Then back down the Alaska Highway back to Northern Illinois.

More than 8000 miles with several oil changes and no problem with the Fumoto Valve.

I highly recommend it!

Fumoto valve

Thats good to know. I installed a Fumoto oil valve on my oil change last month. Haven't had to use it yet and was wondering how it will work. Good to know others have had good results with it.

I put an EZ valve on my Duramax and love the no mess draining. It's a little slower draining this way but not a big deal.

I went for the EZ valve because at the time Fumoto used a rubber gasket that squished out if you tighten it too tight and EZ Valve used a rubber O-ring.

Instead of the safety clip I use a small wire tie for the peace of mind that the valve will stay closed

Still use the rubber gasket (AT LEAST THEY DID AS OF A YEAR AGO). Never had an issue with it coming out and I've make them tight!

X2 and on the race cars the valves get removed on engine rebuilds and we reuse the gasket a few times.

Bottom line.... whether it be Fumoto or EZ Valve you won't go wrong... Great invention...

Last oil change was a freebe from the dealership... Technician liked it too and asked where I got it.

The remote valve thing never made any sense to me.You dont get any oil on your fingers pulling the plug, then get a whole handfull when you drop the filter!

Fumato here too but do not over tighten it or it will shear.
