MNtraveler the brochure is correct about the actual body (the box) width of 94.5". When I measured the 98" width it included the outside of the awning housing and the side slide-out awning

Got it. The awning does stick out a bit!

We are 150 #'s heavy on our 2016 2400W w/ no water in the tank...That's roughly 1%. Common sense tells me that, while we might not be ideal, there can't be serious consequences when 1% under would be an EMPTY motorhome, Including me and my DW. We are departing next week for a 7 week western NP trip (from Atlanta), and most of the cargo is necessary.

I finally got a chance to weigh my 2401S MBS on a CAT scale and it came in at 11000 lbs with the front axle at 3920 lbs and the rear at 7080 lbs. This brings me in at 30 lbs under the max recommended weight. The RV was fully loaded for camping with about a 1/3 tank of fresh water and a bicycle rack with two bikes. It doesn't give me a lot of wiggle room but at least I'm under the max GVW.

We have had our 2016 MBS 2400R for nearly 3000 miles now and I decided to get it weighed when heading out for a week at the beach. The front was 4000# and the rear was 7440#. Both axles were under, but GVW was 11,440# (410#) over! I was shocked. I had no water in the tanks at all, but did have 2 cases of bottled water, and of course some beer, but not much else except DW and 80# pooch. Oh well, time to start stripping weight.

Yes, the toad works great as a storage pod. Just make sure to get a lighter toad.

I would like to know with what tires the 2017 Forester / Sunseeker come: Brand/ size /loadrange. Maybe one of the new owners can chime in?
Thanks Hans

Keep in mind these tire are on all Sprinters from the MB factory.

They are tried and true. They typically get replaced due to age before wear on MBS motor homes.
