A follow-up: I decided to open the DV5600 box to see if anything obvious might stand out. Found a powdery sulphate deposit on the circuit board at the door-panel contact area. The deposit is about the dimension of a quarter (25₡). Seeing this changes my negative opinion about Furrion as this corrosion has nothing to do with their product, but rather was probably result of somebody improperly cleaning the contacts. (I bought this 2016 motorhome used in 2016
another story.) Given what I've just learned, I'll probably replace the broken DV5600 with another one
unless somebody has a better recommendation.
On another note
about which I'll start a new thread, but background here because of what GeoDoc said:

I found the defective outside entertainment system because I am studying the idea of upgrading my interior sound system. I never use the outside entertainment (I watched a few minutes of TV once), but thought I might extend some of the indoor wiring modification to the outdoor area, and in the process of considering this idea discovered the defective DV5600.
The two primary reasons for upgrading the audio system are: 1) Sirius XM is connected to cab Jensen radio, but the Sprinter speakers are deficient; 2) Coach television speakers are also deficient, especially if running the generator (as GeoDoc also noted).
A solution: install additional (amplified) speakers in the coach with a cab-radio/coach-tv selector switch. (In the process of running additional wires, plan to extend the cab-radio audio to the outside entertainment area.)
That's the background and we should take that discussion to a new thread. See "
Upgrading/Improving Audio System Quality".
