House battery group and capacity

There are no labels on my house batteries to indicate the brand, type/group, or capacity. Need to know capacity to set up battery monitor, and type for eventual replacement. 2017 MBS 2400R. Two 12V'ers. And are there other groups with higher capacity that will fit under entry step?

They are likely group 24's. Maybe ~150AH total so ~75AH usable. I think a group 27 *may* fit in some cases. The GC2's are too tall in my Prism.

My 2017 MBS 2401WS came with 2 group 27 12 Volt batteries. I replaced them with 2 Group 31 AGM batteries with 125 AH. Also have 200 watts of solar on the roof and a TriMetric monitor and solar control to keep them charged.

Unfortunately my understanding batteries are supplied by the dealer if purchased new you can ask the dealer,. If purchased from a third party may ask them if known what you have. Hard to say at this point.

You should be able to tell what group size your batteries are by their dimensions and likewise what will fit in a given space. Heres a link that may help.

Thanks. So it looks like one of the 27's, but none of their dimensions is "right on." Is the height just the case, or does it include the posts? That's about an inch difference. In any case, looks like I can fit in any of those.

I hadn't thought to ask the dealer -- I had figured Forest River supplied them.

I believe Motorhome batteries are factory installed.

Usually if 2 6V true deep cycle batts are used in series (to make 12V) there will be a higher deep cycle capacity.

See Trojan for size and 20 hour rate amperage.

From the ones I've seen so far, the 6V ones are too tall to fit under the entry step battery box. Otherwise I would be going that route.
