Has anyone done a replacement of the existing whip antenna with a low profile antenna on their Sprinter? I am looking for a direct replacement for mine as it currently scrapes across the RV door going in and out of storage. It already has a slight bend it it. Ideally, I would like to find something about 6 - 12 inches that does not require a lot of fuss to install.
The idea length of an antenna for FM ius 31 inches. The more y0u get away from that length the worse your reception will be. If possible just pull the antenna back and anchor it to something. Does your antenna have the spring at the base?

Yes, it does have the spring at the base. I was just looking for something that performed just as well, but did not require timing down.
