Been following the forum all summer and really enjoy reading so many interesting topics. Expecting our MBS 2401R (on order) late Jan and can't wait.

Last week we received the Vin number and I was able to get a lot of details on Mercedes options for our Sprinter.

Here's the website I used:
Checking VIN for Mercedes-Benz WDDHF7EBXEA947042 | CARInfo

Go about 3/4 down the page and enter you Vin number and make sure English is selected where it says: Check the VIN Mercedes-Benz
Suggest you edit the link incase that VIN number has significance.

Here's the link without the other person's VIN number already entered: Checking VIN for Mercedes-Benz | CARInfo There's a limit of three checks per day and if you go to the site with the VIN already entered, it counts (drat, going to have to wait until tomorrow to see what my data entry sheet looks like).

Thanks CharSolera for the new link. The site is a challenge to use with the IP limitations per day as you loose the ability to search.

Once you have the data you can match up every code number and find details on options using the 2016 sprinter equipment handbook.

Has anyone disconnected the neg. battery lead next to the accelerator? Does it pull straight off after releasing the red clip?

My 2016 on a 2015 chassis is registered as a 2016 Sunseeker MBS on the title, registration, and insurance.
All manufacturers generate a "Certificate of Origin" for every vehicle produced. This document will state the model year of the finished/completed RV and is used by the purchasers State DOT to generate the vehicle title.

YES, pulls straight up. Press the red clip when reattaching and you'll hear a click when it's properly back in place.Easy task!

Thanks RSchleder. The manual is not very clear and I don't like to try and force something when I am not sure of the outcome.

MBS Chassis Questions

Thanks again.

Downloaded the manual?? You should have received a full set of manuals with the vehicle. See attached photo. The manuals should have included Operating Instructions, Maintenance Booklet, Fuse Allocation Supplement (priceless, literally 17 pp. of informative about all the fuses!), Service and Warranty Information, and Sprinter Incomplete Vehicle Document Cab Chassis F28 or FW1. If you didn't get them, go back and insist on them.

When I posted I had downloaded the manuals our "W" hadn't been delivered...

I prefer soft copy docs over printed as it is easier to use my Samsung Galaxy tablet than haul around a paper manual. Plus with soft copies you have the latest revision...

I've downloaded the soft copies of just about all of the documentation on our "W" and loaded them on a Mini-SDHC card inserted in one of my expansion slots. Hard manuals stay in the unit my Galaxy stays with me...

I am just about to convert Dynamax over to digital copies. We'll include a flash drive with every unit. Will have the owners manual (so I can edit on the fly and not have to go through 500 copies before we get the new version) and all appliances manuals. We're about 30 days from live.

We'll include the printed manuals for as along as we receive them, but would like to be paperless where we can. I think the biggest advantage to digital is the ability to search keywords.

I'm sure that will get a lot of support. The biggest advantage of the paper copy is you can grab it, look up headlight or whatever and turn to the right page. No searching through 65 hits on "headlight." Now I will duck so the rest can pile on about how old school that is and how great e-copies are! ;-)

I ignore and bury my own faults, by loudly pointing out the faults of others. It's the american way

Since my "W" is at a storage lot, with the paper manuals in it, having soft copies on my Galaxy tablet, and my Mac, is a bit more convenient to "grab". Both paper and soft copies have their advantages but I suspect paper manuals are on their way out. Since I can have both, at least now, I see no reason not to enjoy all the advantages of both formats.

Brian,

Jump drives die or get lost way too often. The "jump drive" should be backed up with an easily accessible, down loadable copy on your website. Being able to download a self extracting zip file of all my RV's info would be great customer service! And it would allow you to provide owners with the most recent documentation easily, quickly, and very inexpensively...

We'll make them downloadable as well.

great!

if they would include parts catalogs that would be fantastic!

the orange lens cover blew off my porch light while traveling,
drove by Dealer on way home, tried to get service writer to look at it so part could be ordered, without budging his response was "leave unit so techs can determine problem"

so I left

bought a replacement on line and installed it - cheaper than a couple of 70 mile taxi rides!
