MBS kwikee Lippert step issue

Motor home has kwikee lippert auto steps. After sitting a couple of weeks turned the power on and they were in mid open position. When closing/opening door they moved about 1" in from this position and 1" out. Tried starting the rig and they retracted only 1"
I physically pulled and pushed on the steps as a I opened/closed the door and eventually got full range back and they now seem ok.
The step light works fine and I lubricated all parts even though the manual says this is not necessary. There is a purple wire and connector hanging from the control module but it doesn't look like it was ever connected anywhere.
Anyone have a similar experience?

Look at this MB step thread. I am not familiar with the step model you're referring too. But, if it is similiar to this discussion, it might be some help to you. Electric step blowing fuses
