Mileage

Just came back from a 4000 mile trip . Averaged 12.2 mpg on my 24 ft Sunseeker with a Sprinter chassis. Thought I would get higher . What are others getting on their Sprinters.

That sounds about right to me. Some folks seem to get higher mileage, but a lot depends on how and where you drive. Driving 55 on flat roads with a tailwind will get you pretty high mileage. Driving 75 on interstates in the mountains won't.

Once rolling air resistance if the prime factor and it's exponential. It's twice as much at 70mph than it was at 50. Slow down.

Just completed a trip to Leavenworth Wa from Bend OR and kept it at 60-60. Fairly light load and no toad. Got 14.

Over about 8600 miles, we've averaged 14.8 mpg with about 80% of that towing the Sonic on a dolly. Not towing, we average about 16mpg. The lowest we've seen is 12.6 and the highest 17.1. I drive 60-62.

My 2016 Prism 2150 LE with about 20,000 miles average is 15.4 MPG. Trip driving averages vary between 14 to 17 MPG affected by terrain, conditions, and foot weight. Driving into a headwind seems worse than mountain driving, with open-highway flatland's producing the best MPG. I am generally light-footed, staying in the 55 to 60 MPH range, often using cruise control. I manually calculate mileage between fill-ups, don't know my loaded weight, and don't tow.

Are you towing anything?

Averaging mid 13s on my 2017 Prism 2150LE. 11,000 miles and counting this year. Very little light towing. Mostly highway, running cruise control at 64.

It gets low 14s consistently during the wife's shifts. She runs 65+ without cruise.

That brings up a good point. Do you see much difference between manually calculating and the dash read out?

Mileage to VT & Back

Averaged 12.4 mpg over 6700 miles going from Oregon to Vermont & back.
Did not tow.
Weighed in & out bound in OR and was about 200 pounds over GVWR.
Drove the speed limit unless it was higher than 70 mph except during periods of high wind or rain in OR, ID, UT, KS, NE & WY.

Typically get 14+ mpg in Oregon going the speed limit in our 2018 2400R Sunseeker

Had a great trip although we were a week before peak leaf season

We’ve put 10,000 miles on ours since we bought it 2.5 years ago. We average about 12.8-13 mpg.

Kind of depends on what your setup is - ours is a 2017 FR SunSeeker 2400R towing a 2dr Jeep JKS. Our last trip (Or, Id, Ut, Co, NM, Nv back to Or) mileage was anywhere from 9 to 14 mpg. Lots of mountain passes, high winds across Utah, etc, contributed to various MPG. Not towing, we get about 14 mpg and I tend to drive a max of 65, unless I am going through Salt Lake City where at 70 you are still about to get run over.

I put a few more PSI in the tires and saw a 1.0 to 1.5 mpg bump in fuel efficiency.

What did you increase them to? I run about 65psi typically.

How fast were you driving? Faster speeds = lower mileage. Have you weighed your loaded rig? Higher weight = lower mileage. Once you know the loaded weight, visit the web page for your brand of tire to determine the recommended tire pressure for your tires/weight. I have a 2014 Forest River Solera and average 15-17 mpg.

For those of you that manually calculate your mileage. Do you see much difference from the dash readout? I've always just used the readout on the dash and typically see 12-14 at speeds of 60-65 (not towing) but have questioned the MBS accuracy.
