My 1st check engine light

P2470. Light is not flashing and no warnings on the screen so I will drive for awhile and see if it clears. I remember reading on here to not clear the codes.
Under warranty but not convenient when you live 150 miles from the nearest dealer.

Don't wait too long. It may decide to begin a 10 start countdown if emissions are too far out of range or if Def injection is compromised.

Where does the count down warning show up? Is it on the odometer screen?

There will be an alarm and it will be the only thing displaying on the odometer screen for 20-30 seconds when you start the vehicle. You can't miss it. It is followed by a sick feeling.

Code

Looked up that code. I hear that most auto dealers won't work on motorhomes but by chance have you contacted one to ask?

It's still under warranty so I will eventually go to the dealer 150 miles away.

Understood. I was assuming you were going to take it back to the RV dealer.

Hey, I have a 6.7 turbo diesel Dodge Ram. I get non flashing light and go cap off the fuel. Next day, gone. Happens maybe 3 times a year. Probably my fuel cap seal more than anything.
BUT, if under warranty, check it out first opportunity.
Last year I was in Germany and rental car "light" came on ( VW). Needed it to go away for return in Copenhagen.
Mechanic put a guage on it, ran a test and shut it off. No fee for the American 😁! Time: 3 minutes!!

We had a problem with our vehicle, called the phone number in the manual and the person was very helpful. He directed us to a dealer in the Texas area that we were traveling in. The check engine light was due to a overheating sensor which the dealer replaced free of charge since it was under warranty.

I second this suggestion. I had a check engine light a couple of weeks ago while traveling in Oklahoma. The rep on the phone directed me to a Freightliner truck service facility which also does Sprinter work. The tech there spent about 45 minutes with me as he read the codes (most of which were original with the chassis at 0 miles) and we discussed the possibilities. In the end we decided the problem was actually in my toad, not the motorhome. The code was a crank position sensor fault which stopped lighting the check engine light after maybe three restarts.

In any case, I was very impressed especially since the tech spent so much time and didn't charge me, or Mercedes, anything. (I highly recommend Premier Truck Group in Tulsa...)
