I contacted the Mfg. of the door. They sent me two latches N/C. They must expect it to break again.

The way those latches are built they can pop off and be snaped back on. This is not always the case. May times they are actually broken. Mine came off and on close inspection I discovered it could be reattached.

Note the latch on the shower door is very important - one hard swing out into the toilet while driving it will blow up into tiny pieces as it is tempered.

My most important easy to forget checks are stabilizer feet up / shower door latched when pulling off.

I like the idea of removing the door...but I'm not at all clear on how to do that. Can you give us a (hopefully brief!) description of how you took the door off it's rails?

Thanks!

Dave

Shower door latch

I had a problem with the latch on our 2012 Solera not keeping the door shut. Dealer attempted to "tilt" the door so the latch connected better - failed attempt, no improvement. The door would slam open and jump out of the lower track when driving. I fixed by adding a short piece of 1/4 inch drip tubing to the door where the latch should connect, gluin g it on with "GOOP". Has worked great since - 4 years and 60K miles, including the AlCan highway. Not sure if they have modified since our 2012 unit.

Found 2.5 gallon Blue Def at Sam's Club for $11, so two for $25 seems pretty good. I was able to get MBS Mobile 1 oil from Walmart, in a 5 gallon container, bought three for the job at about 7,000 miles--end of last 2015 traveling season--didn't want to put away for the winter with dirty oil. I know there's a lot more about these topics on this site.

On our 3300 mile first trip we had no problems with the shower door or latch. All seems pretty solid to me.

Check the spec. on the oil. Walmart does not normally carry MB approved 229.52 oil. Could mess with your warranty.

I did not even know the unit could be had with a curtain, and there was no discussion of this while we were looking at it. Our dealer was only stocking SunSeeker MBS 2400W's with full body paint and glass shower doors (and probably other items we did not know were options). The only upgrades offered were the AC that included the heat pump, the diesel generator, and the side view cameras.

They aren't listed as options in the product brochure nor in the invoice pricing. Full body paint is listed. Side cameras are listed. If other things are options, they are not very transparent.

Mobil 1 is not in spec. Mobil 1 ESP is in spec but harder to find. As with most things RV, it's available on Amazon.
