Pantry improvement - w floor plan

I changed the previous cabinet door and deep narrow shelves into a pull out pantry. The pic attached is when we were test fitting various items to determine size of shelf lips needed and heights.

I made it out of cabinet grade plywood that is much lighter than the partical board shelves that were removed. Counting the slides and extra material it did add a little weight but the storage space and ability to see what's in there is well worth it. There are (2) 100 pound rated slides on the bottom and 1 100 pound slide at the Top in the middle for stability.

My wife is very very excited about this change! Click image for larger version

I like it. The cabinets are too deep to access things in the back. Do you have written plans? Where did you purchase the slides?

OMG... are you in the Northwest? Because I want one too and would be willing to pay you to do it! Great job, if I wait for hubby it would never get done. I would have to do it.

Very nice mod!
We modified the pantry in our Solera M with pullout racks we ordered from Container Store. We're very happy with how they work for us.

Sorry the photos are so big in my post. I thought I downsized them.

I really like those. We started going that route but our pantry shelves are only 7" wide and we could not find anything that narrow premade that pull out.

Glad to hear it, I think it would be a great selling feature as my wife is so excited about this space now. She put a lot of things under and over the sink before because she felt things became lost in the pantry and were hard to get to.

She said she feels like the pantry size doubled and she can now utilize it so much better!

I think what you did is great! Our pantry is 12.5" wide, so it was pretty easy to find the pull-out racks to fit. The shelves are 24" deep and on our first trip out, I had no idea what I'd put in the back!
