Remove Table Leg Floor Fixture?

I have a 24R with the sofa (rather than dinette) option. The sofa option comes with a solid surface table in front of the sofa. The table mounts on a metal leg which, in turn, mounts into a metal fixture in the floor.

The solid surface table is heavy and needs to be installed / removed everytime the slide is put out / pulled back in. All in all, it's a PIA. So I use a couple of small folding tables instead - they weigh less, they're easier to setup, and they can be moved around to suit the moment.

So, with that background, I'm wondering if anyone has removed the floor fixture? The fixture forms a fairly useless lump, gets in the way of the tables, and collects a wide variety of dirt.

To make it work, I'd have to take the fixture out; somehow fill in the resulting hole, and patch the flooring to make it look good.

Has anyone done this or have suggestions about it? I've gone so far as to loosen the six screws that hold the fixture down, but the fixture didn't become loose, so I suspect it's also got sealant holding it in place. I decided to leave it as is, because, without knowing exactly what's down there, I could easily make a mess trying to get the fixture and the sealant up.

Thanks for any ideas!

It's probably just stuck to the linoleum. Use a putty knife under the edge. Be prepared to make an alum plate, etc with countersunk holes to cover the spot.

I don't use my heavy table either. As far as the floor fixture goes, I put a can upside down in it (mushroom can) so my pooch won't get his paw in it. Basically everything I do can be reverted back to original in case of resale.

Dave, We have wondered about that too. They will up with dirt and dog hair plus I don't like stepping on the bump. It does look too hard to change them out plus we may want to use the tables in the future. We have a heavy area rug over the 2 in front of the sofa and that helps a lot.
