After 7 or 8 hours of driving I find the seat to be very uncomfortable. as anyone purchased an aftermarket seat for their unit?

I found that true of mine. The "Ultra leather" material does not breath. It reminds me of the plastic seat material of the old 60's economy model cars. I got one of the those seat covers that vent the air under me, but that is hardly a solution. I am still amazed that I paid $80,000 and got such cheap components. Any fabric seat material would have been better. Like many German cars, the seat is very hard. How much would it have cost FR to do better.

I am not going to consider spending a couple of hundred on a custom seat! I'll live with it, but never get another FR product. But, I think they are all the same.

I don't think this is a Forest River issue but a Mercedes one.

Odd, I find the seats to be quite comfortable. Plus they are 8-way adjustable, which is great. The only thing I wish was they had a Driver 1 and Driver 2 memory setting dice we are always moving the seat back and forth between us.

I fully admit to being a complete wimp when it comes to my seats. Each time I buy a new motorcycle, the first thing I do is have the seat completely rebuilt. Having said that I find the cushion of the seat too short and there is no support for the bottom third of my thighs. Also the material is slippery and I find myself sliding when I don't want to slide. I find the limiting issue when I travel long days is the seat.

No, but your next comment reminded me that they are actually 10-way adjustable:

Seat forward-back
Seat up-down
Thigh support up-down (makes it feel more or less like a bucket seat)
Seat back forward-back
Lumbar support more-less

It's probably true that these seats are more comfortable for someone who is smaller. I'm 5'7" and they fit me fine. DW is 5'2" and she is very happy that the seat can be lowered to where she can fully reach the pedals with her feet touching the floor, not suspended in mid-air (which was the case in a Jayco Greyhawk that we rented, built on a Ford chassis).

Just an observation, but wouldn't sitting in any chair for "7 or 8 hours" be uncomfortable. There are really good "after market seats for around a grand and you can search the solera forum on that.

I have houses in Florida and North Carolina. I regularly make the drive of 12 to 13 hours in one day and my car seats are much more comfortable than the seats in the RV. Thanks for the advice on the Solera forum.

Go To Wal-Mart get a "simply comfy" seat pad, unbelievably comfortable for 20 bucks, I actually had one in my 100g 640i BMW if you can believe that, it took the bottoming out plywood feel to comfort in the ass. Lol
