Sealant at rear of loft cap?

There is some damage to the sealant at the top rear of the cap. Anyone know the exact sealant used? It seems almost putty-like. 2017 Sunseeker MBS 2400R.

That looks like a puddle of dicor and debris that the body shop just painted over. The seam to the roof is on the other side of the lip on my unit. Was the dicor placed to seal a crack ? Otherwise it may not need fixing unless it's easier to just fill it with dicor to prevent wind from peeling paint. Good luck

RV was factory-painted, this was not a fix for any problem. Just wondering about filling in the missing chunk of seal on the right-hand side of the seam (probably from a tree branch). When you say "other side of the lip, are you saying the main seal (i.e., where it could leak) is on the left side of the raised strip?


I've never had to use dicor for anything so not exactly sure what it's like, or if that is what they used there at the factory.

Dicor is the sticky sealant used around all the roof joints and penetrations. It was applied prior to painting. Yes the main seal should be on the left side of the band . You can order a tube of dicor self leveling sealant on amazon. It will fill the hole. Also go over the rest of your roof for cracked dicor while you have the tube started. Just clean the older areas of dirt with denatured alcohol or mineral spirit first. Then fill/ cover the cracks and dips. You will quickly see why it is called self leveling. Checking the roof dicor should be a yearly task now that your rig is getting older. Nobody wants to find the roof leak after it leaks.

Clean your roof and use Eternabond (EternaBond) over top the sealant. Then you won't have to worry about it for 10 years. Many members have applied it in the first year as preventive maintenance. I did mine the summer after the fall purchase of the TT.

Thanks, folks. Seriously considering the Eternabond. Will decide after a thorough inspection of the entire roof to assess desired width and length needed.
