Sprinter cab speakers
On our 2017 MBS 2400w (2016 Sprinter chassis) we only get sound from the center speaker in the cab. I have tried adjusting the sound on the radio/cd player right to left, front to back, but there is only sound from the speaker above the radio. There are places on the doors where speakers might be. My question is, are they there? If not, are there wires in place to easily add speakers to the doors? Crutchfield has pairs of speakers from $40 and up, along with installation instructions for the Sprinter... has anyone here added new speakers. How about the center one?
Thanks!

Your MBS chassis comes complete from the factory to FR build out location. The radio/sound system is fully functional with all speakers in door etc, installed by MB at that time. It appears that if your sound is not coming out from the cab speakers, it would appear the install of the radio by FR during build, caused your MB factory speakers to become disabled. It's a dealer issue. BUT, letting your dealer tackle that might tie you up for weeks. I suggest you tell your dealer that you want to take it to a car audio shop, where you know it will be a quick fix. Good luck.

Thanks! How big a deal is it to pull the radio head unit out of the dash to check the connections?

That I probably can't help you with as mine is a different unit, a Magnedyne. Maybe others can chime in on that one. One thing you can do when you get it out, is look for the door speaker wires feeding into the DIN electrical connection off the radio. I have no idea how tidy the wiring is from your model radio and the interface with the ceiling speakers wiring.
If you find any loose wires, you can send an audible signal down the wires by brushing them off a 9V batteries +/-terminal and listening for a static noise from the door speaker.

I found some YouTube videos on removing the radio... doesn't look too crazy. We are heading out later this week, and I would not even consider taking it to the dealer at this time. All other systems are go! Thanks for the tip on the speaker test with the 9v battery. I am not sure how easy it would be to ID the door speaker wires... all the wires come together into a harness, and there are plenty of them! I suspect I can find a schematic somewhere on-line for the radio. Any tips would be appreciated.

The Jensen VX7020 is very easy to remove (if that's what you have). However it's not fully intuitive due to the modifications made at the factory, so if you do try to remove it, don't force anything.
I discovered that mine has an added, super custom anti-theft device screwed in to the back. So after removing all of the facing screws and one might think it should just slide out, it won't. I had to further dismantle the dash before i could remove it, very easy to do but had I let frustration and expectations get the best of me I would of broken something.
Oh, and the super custom "viper" double din touch screen anti-theft device can't be sourced from Crutchfield, but your local hardware store has all the pieces you'll need. A short strip or pipe strapping, folded in half and then screwed into some plastic with a sheet metal screw. Prevents from sliding the radio out as expected, and requires further dismantling and time...

One other tip I can give you is MB will certainly have color coded wires running from each door speaker. That will give you a leg up on where, in the harness behind the radio, they terminate. If FR does it right, the brand of radio you have will have DIN connectors to interface those door, and center speakers, with their (FR's) ceiling speaker wires, all connecting to the audio out(s) on your brand radio. You might try the sprinter forum for the MB's speaker coded colors, they will be model year specific, and the radios brand website for their color schematic. The easier way out if still under warranty, is to get the OK to take it to a car audio shop, they are good at this type of stuff, after your season is over of course. Just sayin'

Has anybody had success getting a dealer to OK the troubleshooting/repair of a FR installed sound system at a third party resource?
